Every year, Cannes brings the world’s attention to storytelling. This year, it also helped us tell a story that matters far beyond the red carpet.
At the 2026 Cannes Luncheon, held during the Cannes Film Festival, we welcomed friends, change-makers and advocates from film, fashion and philanthropy for an afternoon with one clear purpose: driving real change across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Across the region, road traffic injuries are one of the leading causes of death – and the crisis is deepening. As urbanisation accelerates, more people are on the roads, yet infrastructure and safety standards have not kept pace. Children and young pedestrians bear a disproportionate share of the toll.
We are proud to share that this year’s event raised over € 200,000, providing resources that will go directly to Amend’s road safety programmes, and the Toni Garrn Foundation’s work supporting girls’ education and healthcare access across the continent. Every contribution translates into practical change, and lives saved.
